This module covers the basics on how IP Video Surveillance Systems operate and how these systems differ from traditional Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) Systems. We will also be looking at the individual components that make up an IP-based VSS and how those components work together to provide an effective and efficient security system.
After completing this module, you will be able to describe the advantages of installing an IP Video Surveillance System (VSS) and outline the differences between traditional CCTV systems and IP Video systems, identify the key components that make up a VSS, and complete a basic site assessment based on threat analysis and asset identification.
